• Anyone may visit the library and enjoy the collection at the Alliance Française de Lahore. However, you must be a student or become a member of the Alliance Française de Lahore to check out material from the library. Just drop by the library to borrow our French language books, movies, magazines, and language-learning materials.

  To acquire the membership of the library, the fee is Rs. 1000. Two passport-size pictures and a photocopy of your ID card are required. You will also have to fill in a form that is available at the library. You will be issued a card that is valid for a year. It will allow you to borrow books and DVDs.

  Library hours are different from the office hours of the Alliance.

Regular Hours

The loan period is two weeks

– Books: up to 3 at a time

– DVDs: up to 1 at a time

– Magazines & newspapers: up to 1 at a time (the most recent is non-circulating). They are borrowed on an Honor System: no due date, please read them on the premises and return them when you are done. 

If you fail to return the books or DVDs within two weeks, a fine of Rs.5 for books and Rs.10 for DVDs will be charged for every day that the material hasn’t been returned.

You are responsible for the items you borrow. We ask that you return items in the same condition as when you borrowed them.

If borrowed items are damaged or lost, we ask that you purchase a new copy for the library. If you can’t purchase a new copy, we will charge a replacement fee.
