Our
library helps you discover
and improve your knowledge of French culture and language.
There are around 3500 documents that cater to your needs and interests.
Our
collection is most of all about, French Civilization, French Language
and the different ways of learning it (FLE, dictionaries, books
in simple French...). You will also find a good collection of
books on French literature, " Art and civilization ",
and a number of periodicals (Elle, Paris Match, Art Presse,
etc.), comics, books for children, audio cassettes and CD's,
videos and multimedia titles, as well as a (two audiovisual rooms
setup to receive live transmission of French Channels (TV5)
CD'S
AND INTERNET
Alliance has now added
a new dimension to its ever-growing collection of multimedia documents.
About 40 CD's can be consulted in our library. They are about 30 titles ranging from a series
on art figures, French history and civilization, French cuisine
and many more!
In addition, we have just created an internet cafe available for students/members access, there is Internet for public access, where a selection
of web sites about France, as online journals like Le Monde, Le
Figaro, etc, can be consulted. This service is free for students/members..

BOOKS
About
3200 books are available covering all subjects. The emphasis
is on art, contemporary culture and related fields, philosophy,
tourism and travel, , literature, media, cinema, architecture,
music, etc.
Part of the collection is in English, which is being replenished
regularly.
PERIODICALS
AND NEWSPAPERS
Several
titles of periodicals and newspapers are on free access, giving
you most recent information on what is going on in France, on
variety of Key-words. You will find Le Monde, Le Nouvel Observateur,
Paris Match, Elle, and many others.
VIDEO
COLLECTION
More than 300 French films, mostly
subtitled in English, about 612 documentary films and footage
on video as well as on DVD, meant specially for media professionals
and institutions, are also offered.
Our librarian, is at your disposal to help you consult
books, choose videos and guide you through a wide selection of
France related websites.

The French Centre has refurbished its shelves with new books and
DVDs coming directly from France. All the major literary prizes
and bestsellers are now available. Stop by the
library to check them out!
Besides these movies we also just received books of renowned
French writers from various part of world.

CINE-CLUB:
